Ali,

been thinking about this BT rumour.

1. WCII are mainly ex MCI

2. MCI was embarked on building a local phone service

3. The future of the telephone business is to have local access to the customers for bundled services.

4. Any major telco that doesn't have 3. above will be out of contention within three years.

5. Any telco that doesn't have a major position in the biggest market in the World will not be a first division player.

6. There aren't that many opportunities acquire a business that has the ability to be nationwide and serious in the US within a reasonable timescale.

7. BT has made a good trade on its MCI stock but BT is a"macho" company and doesn't like the image of being a dealer. It wants to be a player at the big game.

8. There are some other ex country telco monopolies that have also recently discovered capitalism ie the French and the German.

9. Satellite systems are coming and it may become more and more difficult to charge the poor old customers loads of $ per minute for long distance....where will they get such juicy revenues from ever agian?

10. If WCII is as good as we think it is then those who want to be players in the big game better do something about it fast before someone else does and their opportunities for remaining a player are diminished.

11. I have some advice for budding International telco would be World Class players......please don't buy WCII just yet you could probably get it for less than $100 a share...please wait ....be very cautious and careful and do a veryy good and long due diligence take your time and follow your advisors advice to be cautious .....and then pay over $200 a share early next year when you're desperate.
