As some of you have surmised, I do in fact have a professional relationship with Loral. I have not kept this secret to deceive anyone, rather to avoid any appearance of being an information leak. At least some of Loral's management does read this thread, by the way. Most importantly, it should be said that I in no way have "insider" information - for example I learned of the Loral and Lockheed merger a couple of years ago from listening to the radio on my way to work. The type of "information" that I have would not be of interest to a lot of people on this thread, and it would be lost on most people as way too detailed and/or technical. Nevertheless, a lot of it is proprietary and as such it needs to stay in my head. What makes this thread so valuable, at least to me, is the kind of information posted by Valueman and Readware. I haven't the aptitude, nor the inclination, to do the types of analyses provided by those persons. So, why am I saying this now? Well, I'm not too sure, but perhaps it is because this thread has given a lot to me, and now as we sit on the brink of what is in a lot of ways a defining moment for Loral, I feel that I need to give a little bit back. I am all but too happy to put my spin on somethings, but remember, my interpretation can be like the blind men trying to describe the proverbial elephant - the one feeling the trunk says its like a snake, and the one feeling the leg says it like a tree, and so on. First of all, everything is in place for the launch. Unless disaster strikes, we will have four healthy satellites in orbit within about 36 hours (assuming the weather cooperates). Secondly, there are in fact a lot of rumors flying around Loral right now. A lot of it bordering on the sublime to the ridiculous. I think, however, that when any big company has an announcement of cutbacks, there is a misinformation spike. When the dust settles, the current rumors of more cutbacks will be unfounded. I'm effectively being quarantined for the next couple of weeks..... Ciao!
