I'm pretty sure the numbers will check out... although, what checks out for insiders might vary from what checks out for common holders. No one ever gets a pass on the checking of the books if its about more than a chart based trade... but, for a starter, or for adds to an early stage position... in the short term. I'm comfortable enough that he's a buyer, still... Where Sprott has proven less prescient is in parsing "management" quality... and related risk... The other large investors in NFG will perhaps provide more balance there, than in many other Sprott "junior" plays... and the scale of the enterprise, in itself, should provide a bit of mass in obviating "pinkness"... but, also potential that too many cooks spoils the coq au vin... (mine, last week, was perfect.) Kirkland Lake had a few wobbles early on... that it would be good to avoid. But I think that's the right framework in which to consider NFG. The transition from explorer to developer is always full of risks... including changes in ownership and management... and assuming the risks get smaller as the numbers get larger is probably a mistake to be avoided... That Sprott is buying more... good on that score, too. In considering NFG risks... I'd worry first about the other owners... potential for conflict... more as transitions become more relevant. Will want to see something more said about plans for that transition from being a permanent exploration project into something more... But, if they're smart, that list of owners will instead become a list of others to consider owning... with the holding becoming less a source of conflict, and more a source of larger future opportunities... Also, I remember that post from Seeking Alpha last year... when they were around $1.30, I think, and the poster was certain it was time to sell because the stock had run so far, so fast as "they hit a few good holes, and that can't continue"... Note that, while I do find charts useful in predicting / guessing about investors future behavior, and in considering stocks performance vs the market... I have no reason to believe that the price performance of the stock has any ability at all to alter what's in the rocks... or in the next drill core... except in that one instance... that ushered in the era of the NI43-101 requirements... But, then, even a very high conviction trade , "possibly multiples of our current 10-million-ounce estimate" might turn out to have only 3 million ounces ? But, then, maybe thats more about "open along strike, across width and at depth" being in a Protected Forest Reserve... next door to terrorist central in Banda Aceh ? Location, location, location... as mining exploration is really just a narrowly focused variant of real estate ?
