Thread

I will hit a few points from the CC with more tomorrow if anyone has questions.

Chambers said:

Asia a challenge but China doing well.
Asia fell from 16% down to 10% growth this quarter, looking for single digit growth by end of year.

Token ring growing 30% qtr over qtr

Fast ethernet should take off fast with new products (He got grilled on this one by a few analysts)

Dial up is taking off and expect to surpass Ascend by end of year. This is growing in excess of 20% qtr to qtr with growth exceeding 100% this year!

Chambers expects the networking industry to grow 30 to 50% per year but with "spikes upwards and downwards" from time to time.

They would like to partner with LU or Northern Telcom and he could not comment on specifics of their communications. (thats interesting!)

GSR is selling well, expect sales to be in "the thousands" (of units).

Microsoft relationship is exceeding expectations.

They are "moving aggressively into ASDL"

Got to go to bed, If their are any questions I will try to expand on things. Cisco is looking very good here. Chambers said they are continuing to take market share almost across the board. Thats great news.

See you all in the morning

Regards

Eric

>>Going forward, according to Senan, the key questions are
whether the company still forecasts 30 to 50 percent growth for
1998, and how the Asian and European markets are performing.<<

Considering how C$CO only achieved EPS growth in the mid 20's the last couple quarters they will need to have a couple quarters in the mid 30's just to achieve the low end of the range of 30% for 1998.

I don't think so Cisco.

Shorting more this morning--65 seems to be a good resistance point.
