Barb, Very, very glad to hear that you are home safely and that the damage wasn't too great. And your idea of keeping the freezer empty seems only practical to me for a while-especially if there is talk of another storm. Why endanger good new food? Are the schools open again? What will they do about all the missed time? Go into the summer? I see that young George did not intervene last night and that Texas has put Tucker to death. And that the Oprah cow trial has begun. We don't have your dramatic weather-well,we do have tornados- but it's an interesting state.

I'm glad the damage to your house was not bad. It must be a great relief, as I'm sure you were concerned not knowing what you would encounter when you returned. How are the outdoor cats?? And how did the freezer get clean? We didn't make a trip there for our freezer food barbecue - honest. I heard about the bicycle crank problem, but mine is okay. Since I have done perhaps 4000-5000 miles on that bike, I think a problem would have shown up by now. The rain that we have been having has kept me off it. I was in Alexandria at the gallery yesterday, and got to leave early because they were expecting flooding and were closing the garage where we park. The Potomac is a tidal river so that a tidal surge was expected on a river that was already high. Were you able to check out Thom's web site? Work on my site has been held up for a month because my son was sent to Milwaukee for that long. He was a little surprised, having just started the job a week earlier.
