Cable/Satellite Broadcast without VBI-PBS

should really not be a problem. most people I know
don't get local stations on their dishes and are used
to supplimenting their input with rabbit ears. The
Cable dependent people in dense metropolitan areas
also have few problems as they are generally close to
broadcast towers (like in NYC) and despite steel and
concrete, still get a decent signal near the window.
Obviously it would be nice to see all broadcasters
cooperate, and I would be interested in seeing how
it plays out "politically" between companies. How
it will effect consumers logistically is negligable.
I'd say worrying about a 300ohm(2pair) to a 75ohm(coax)
is MORE of a concern then where the signal comes from!

Paul, thanks for all the insights. I would say to all
beta-testers looking to post here to be cautious about
it. We would not want to discourage WAVO from their
beta program by being irresponsible here and not honoring
non-desclosure agreements. There are MANY issues that
have to be hashed out in the next 60 days, so let's keep
our posts as FACTUAL as possible, so we're not guilty of
misleading people here like they often do on AOL. The
companies press releases are hyped enough as is...

Some optimistic thoughts about WaveFront

It occurred to me the other day, that we may be on the virge of a real revolution here. Think of the first radio broadcasts, then TV, then Color TV, etc. Think of the dynamic of a new innovative service scrambling for content, and hoping enough people will be able to tune it to make the advertisement based revenue model actually work. Now we have a this relatively new medium of data broadcast services. The concept is not new, or course, but the approach and penetration possible with WaveFront may actually lead this meduim into the popular mainstream of info-tainment. I'm really looking forward to this new medium taking off, not as a shareholder, but as a consumer looking very much forward to benefitting from complimentary content that will accumulate on my Hard Drive. The possibilites are staggering for advertising, retailing, education, premiering music and even movies, multimedia content of all kinds, and it's all potentially interactive, and only limited by your computer's capabilities, and the providers imaginations. I can imagine a year from now, network TV and every other conceiveable content publisher rushing into this method of content distribution even faster than they did the Internet itself. The timing could not be more perfect. Computers are relatively cheap, (even WebTV could work with WAVO as they add hard drives this year) penetration of cable modems and other high speed modem alternatives are still years away, industry has signed on to the concept of the Internet for their prosperity, and continue to learn how to harness it, the delay in HDTV will keep broadcast sidebands available for many more years, and the coupe'de'grace, Windows'98 is dying for a killer application to help compel people to upgrade. It's really exciting to have discovered this stock on the vurge of this momentus quarter. I admire all the long time holders, and welcome new investors, and beta-testers to this thread. May our optimism for a truly excellent concept come to fruition soon, and may we all profit from our foresight.
