The idea of "good of the country" is an archaic one when there are Republicans who openly articulate that their idea of "compromise" means the Democrats come over to their side on issues. It isn't a struggle of opposing political philosophies as much as a twilight battle of good and evil at the end of the universe.

It isn't either or. It is a fact of life that when two factions are in disagreement detente becomes increasingly unlikely.

But when you have a condition of essential equilibrium, you need to think twice before tinkering with it. Barack Obama's tinkering has led us to this moment. If we're going to re-institutionalize racism, which is what the Obama crowd wants, you have to be prepared for some pretty ugly stuff to happen. I'm really not.

Is it true that black people in America are generally oppressed? Of course not. That is an absurd proposition to begin with. But if you tell any group they are oppressed long enough and loud enough, they will begin to feel pretty oppressed.

When there are success stories like Ben Carson it is pretty hard to make the case that oppression exists. He came from a place of less than nothing and took control of his life. He could have made the same mistakes the gangsta crowd does today. The real difference is self-respect and you don't get it by having teachers tell you how disadvantaged you are.
