<< And now NSM is over a barrel. >>

Don't you mean bent? :)

Say, thanks for the great info today on Alpha. Saved me a lot of tiresome anxiety on many issues. As for NSm needing 8 Billion...well Victoria might be able to help out at her present rate...well, in a couple thousand years. :-)

all imho

Paul, re: "And now NSM is over a barrel."

Article in the San Jose Mercury News this a.m. which I read fleetingly on the way out the door. No time to pull it up on the SJMN home page, but the gist: NSM is blaming their weak 4Q (or whatever they call their most recent Q) on 2 things:

1. They failed to get expected orders out of Asia near the end of the Q because of 3 holidays in Asia near Q's end. Man, if you have to rely on the last 3 days, and/or you think people are going to buy it, you are in serious trouble.

2. Newly acquired div. Cyrix is "having problems building CPU chips for Compaq that run at fast enough frequencies. You'd think Compaq would have learned their lesson last time they strayed from Intel. Dell is the smartest of all...100% Intel.

Hey, CPQ, over here: those aren't potato chips you're supposed to be putting into your computers.

How about this: Cyrix and NSM...chip and dip. Or, how about Cyrix and NSM and CPQ...chip and chip and dip.
