I agree. I support teaching truth. But I support a proportional truth. There is little value in teaching the history of 1619 or whatever, even though there is truth. OTOH, there is far greater importance in the changes that occurred during the Civil Rights era. The story is that there was some racism a century ago, even more 50 years before that. Since 1860 we have made slow but stead progress in eliminating racism. It is all but gone as it concerns black vs. white.

I worked for a couple years in one of the blackest cities in the country. I'm talking about 70% black. Murders were out of control, and two weeks ago this small town had a murder a day for six days. This is not racism.

This is angry blacks killing one another in a town now of maybe 40k. You want to make them more angry? You want to increase the number of whites killed? Just drill into them, before they drop out of school, how evil the whites are. How much whites owe them. Don't mention that the whites they see had nothing to do with it. We're evil people.

I'm sorry, it just makes zero sense. And that is why parents -- white and black -- are coming out in droves and are pissed.
