I don't disagree with any of that. However, I betcha I will make more money over the next decade investing/trading in oil & gas stocks than I could ever hope to make investing/trading in the world of EV! Of course we all must pay our nickel and take our ride.

You may drive your ICE vehicle as long as possible, as will I, but the mold has been broken, EV's are here to stay and the trend is only strengthening.
I don't dispute that EVs are here to stay. I question the widespread adoption of them to eliminate ICEs in my or even my daughter's lifetime. Sure, Ford and GM have caved to the Green Lobby and I have no doubt they will find a market for their EVs. But I question how widespread that market is. Especially in wide swaths of the country like flyover country with lots of wide open spaces.

While I scaled back many years ago on fossil fuel investments, I still hold a few pipeline companies (like EPD and OKE) and one oil and gas (CVX). But I also added many years ago alternative energy investments / alternative energy infrastructure like EVA, HASI, BEP, BIP. As while I don't dispute that there is some disruptive innovation occurring, I also don't buy in to the idea it will eliminate the need for fossil fuels.

I think one can make money in both areas

I do not disagree. I own copper, because an EV has 5 times as much copper in it as a ICE car. I own silver, because every solar panel has silver in it.

I just disagree with those who want it to happen tomorrow, and so imagine it will. There is a name for that mental process: magical thinking.
