When I was in grade school we lived in a neighborhood that by random chance all the families around us were Catholics. I honestly thought we were the odd ones. Not that it mattered all that much to us kids or my parents. But at that age the world is tiny.

I remember in 2nd or 3rd grade sitting in class learning about the Protestant majority. I remember almost passing out in shock learning the real world was upside down from what I imagined. It had nothing to do with religion, Just that the world expanded in my consciousness so greatly instantly.

On Friday, California Rep. Ted Lieu publicly challenged the authority of the Catholic Church, writing to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops that he is a Catholic politician who supports contraception, abortion, reproductive technologies, divorce, and gay marriage. “Next time I go to church,” he threatened, “I dare you to deny me Communion.”
If he's a Catholic, seems he ought not dare take Communion while he holds such views given what his own faith tells him about doing that.

27 Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 11 - from the Douay-Rheims Version - the Roman Catholic one)

Excommunication

Lieu's statements excommunicate him automatically.

Teddy is not only excommunicated he is committed to eternal hell fire.

And after his treatment of Candace he deserves it...
