Is gold future manipulated as silver seems to be?
I was shocked at the one sided Cheryl Strauss Reinhorn' piece in Barrons (jan. 26, 1998 Commodities), citing a specialist (Felix Freeman) and describing the negatives about gold (all negatives very well known to this board).
Second piece, today, in Investor's Business Daily. On front cover they mentionned W. Buffet's move about silver but the Futures' article by Donald H. Gold, citing David Rinehimer (director of futurees reseach at Salomon Smith Barney) is again COMPLETELY one sided against gold (somehow NOT mentioning the Buffet coup!...)
I see that as very contrarian and am getting more and more invested in gold funds for my retirement (70% now, started 3 weeks ago). The 161 tons of South Korea is a drop in the bucket: $1.5 billion... that's all. NOTHING!. Just psychological. Europeans are not going to sell much gold and French and Germans (banks and individuals investors) are probably buying. Just a guess. Thank you for letting us load up.
Good luck all.
(Talking about Clinton: how about an independent council to see whether Rinehimer or Freeman are manipulating gold market, using gullable Reinhorn and Gold (or are they gullable?, really??... sooooo one sided opinion they have... smells to me... Remember Vinick and a semiconductor company??!!! Oohlala! We could be in for a big gold rush this year! All the above completely IMHO. Good luck all
