Mohan;

<<"Malaysia is Different" a familiar ring?>>

While I realize you are handing me a straight line with the above rhetorical question I think I am going to duck that bullet. To be sure Mahatir has been a tireless campaigner for his country, which, unfortunately, from my point of view, has included some anti-western vitriol. But that aside, he has some interesting points. One point is that Malaysia is different, just as each country in the region is. All too often Westerner's tend to lump into one category all things Asian. We tend to view the Asian countries as somehow homogenous. I know that you know there is nothing further from the truth. Factually, what could a Shinto priest, a Burmese soldier, a Kuala Lumpurian stock broker, and a Korean school teacher have in common. Very little I suspect.

Best,
Stitch
