Hi John, I agree, and I'm not sure if speech recognition would have to be built into each application or not. My instinct tells me it would until such time as a standard develops where software engineer's automatically incorporate it. But that's just a guess.

Speeking of DVD John, Fred talking about digital camera's the other day on the Intel thread got me thinking. The transfer mechanisms of current storage mediums to me is something which is really holding the digital camera business back. Here is the kind of medium I visualize for the future, and I guess I'm wondering if you think it's technically feasible.

You take the read/right technology of DVD. You shrink the disk size down to say half the current size. Then you could slide it into your camera and snap away. Since full size DVD can hold up to 14 gigabites. 6 or 7 or would be reasonable for a disk half the size.

Then since most computers will come with DVD by the end of 98 you invent this slot to fit the smaller DVD into, (like compact VHS) then transfer your images easily into your computer.

That would be an awesome product IMHO. :-)
