success is improving the quality of life without destroying other living creature life or the earth's fauna and flora...

If you choose to define "success" that way... for yourself... fine. I have no problem with it, including if you decide to quit eating plants and animals... in order to "improve your quality of life".

Let me know how the dirt diet works out... once you filter out the microbes ?

Why your presence as a living being on this planet... is a reason for you to feel guilt ? I don't know.

But, I'm not going to join you in that. I'm perfectly comfortable with my place in this world, and with my role in the food chain... as well as with my ability, and the capacity of humanity, to solve our problems... without reliance on fools who are afraid to live full lives... and insist others must (be forced to) match (portions of) their (faux) asceticism... to validate their ego attachment to philosophical errors.

I also have the equal right to define what I think success is... and to make my own choices about what to eat, and how to improve my own quality of life... or work to improve that of others on a purely voluntary basis... without caring about your opinion about what I, or others, "should do"... at all ?

Where I find your reasoning to be specious... I attach no value to your opinions on those things...

If, in result of my living my own life, while ignoring you, you feel your own choices are being disrespected ?

Your myopia... does not make me blind.

That doesn't make me selfish... it only means I have more faith in people than you do... which is pretty sad, given I have so very little... in "most" people. But "humanity" isn't about "most" people ? It is instead, all on one hand, both about all people, and about the most exceptional of people. "People"... as an idea... sitting on a line...with views varying in degrees between reductionism and holism... about toenail clippings... and becoming a multi-planet species... about what to have for dinner tonight... and how to solve the problem of entropy and waste imposed by deliberately adopted inefficiencies in systems.... that are being imposed so that some might divert existing $ flows, at greater cost to "most"... to benefit themselves more than others...( as that is now the purpose of "green" energy transformations) ?

If that above weren't true... criticism... that effort that insists on making and defending rational arguments, instead of adopting irrational beliefs and using them in dictating to others, in pure self interest, what has to be... would be a wasted exercise.

I don't believe it to be that. So, I point out those flaws in your assumptions... that invalidate your arguments... when accepted, blindly.

However, you do appear to be operating under the delusion... that you alone understand reality, and thus have the right to decide things for others... based on irrational assumptions you've made, or adopted from others... that you've decided empower you to act, for others, without their consent... for some reason ?

You will not get me to agree to that... EVER. It is immoral, first... It defies reason, culture, and law. And, it has been tried, before, and, for good reason, has been found wanting as a means of decision making.

All it has ever enabled is failure.

What that makes clear... is that you have ZERO understanding, of others... including that you do not understand what "selfish" is. Because... your choices are the ultimate definition of "selfish"... as you seek to impose your own choices on others... while denying them a right to make choices of their own ?

THAT... is what "selfish" is...

My choice... is the opposite of that...

There can be few clearer expression of "selfish"... than wanting to remove future generations from existence... only in order to make yourself feel a bit more comfortable...by countering the pairing of mass delusions with social anxiety disorder... at the expense of their lives.

But, beyond genocide being wrong because it is selfish... You don't have that right. You are not the arbiter of "scientific truth"... and, the oxymoron of "scientific truth"... confers no unique powers on you, or anyone else... to decide anything for any others on the basis of "truth" justifying your impositions as "for their own good"... while over-riding their RIGHTS...

But, yes... I am "Selfish" enough... to defend others rights... and kill other people over that principle.

I will defend others rights, even with my life, to prevent tyrants "making choices for them"... without consent.

That you persist in thinking... that anyone who disagrees with you, or opposes your most irrational tendencies... as when you advocate for genocide... is therefore wrong / evil / the problem... ? The problem that leaves you with... is that your extraordinarily corrupted sense of morality in relation to choice... is not only not superior... it is also simply... not convincing.

Any who do proceed in seeking to modify others biology... to limit their fertility... without their informed consent... are committing crimes against humanity. Done in context of a war, they'll be war criminals...

I'm repeating that point... as the reality of our society, versus your illusions of "what it should be"... is that it is based in having RESPECT for individuals... and their INDIVIDUAL rights. That respect includes codification in law... as it is the rule of law, and not rule by clueless crazy men... that makes our civilization successful enough... even to be able to sustain people who don't understand that it is successful... how it succeeds... why it does... or why it will likely continue to succeed. But, it will.. even in spite of some few clueless crazy beneficiaries of our success as a species... who understand our success so poorly... that they cannot comprehend its continuance... and thus seek to interfere with its basic functions... in order to disrupt them... to "improve" them... by forcing them to fail ?

That Darwin was right... is still not an incentive for me to join you ?
