There are some rumors that amd may buy siii on yahoo's
message board. I'm not sure why amd may need siii. But anyway,
there are a lot of players in computer graphics, sooner or later
some consolidation happens.

The patent purchases took place in August, under the auspices of
the infamous and hated "business boob", Gary Johnson.

Do you suppose that if they purchased patents that are "prior art" to the Merced chip, that SIII might come out with a "Fresno" chip?
