In light of the changes over the years, those are some important historical documents, the illustrations are wonderful too.

Talking of Tee Vee, I vaguely remember seeing a documentary in the 1980's ? on China, who were making steam trains at the time, although it mentioned that a new industrial era was starting.

Then in the 1990's I remember helping technicians ship used Perkin Elmer 140's optical aligners to China. (good for circa 10 micron geometries and avove) It was highly unusual because normally the company would scrap used equipment to make sure a competitor could not use it. The technicians were mostly from the almost extinct UK ship building business, so they were not impressed at all. 20 years before, the Ship building business had started exporting to Japan. Thence to South Korea, and then to China.

To a certain extent, this exporting of jobs and technology overseas is OK, but in excess, it's pure baloney. Really, very unwise, and that is true for any country, East or West.

Ghandi knew what he was doing in India.

It's a problem that a nations government needs to address. Japan did after they got clobbered after WW2.

Just love this movie. The USA version was a poor replica. I think the Japanese government had cottoned on also how to use the media and entertainment business to help achive national goals.

circa 1954. hmmmm.

The trailer, with Italian Western flavours.
