>>Can the Net-Arm be used in the printing business - where internet or LAN is involved? <<

Yes, Pete is the DPI guy who has finally brought his Net Arm chip to the market after developing it for the last 3 years. To answer your question, most of their print server customers (oems) already have the Net Arm designed into their future products. While the Net Arm will replace some print server revenues to some extent, it carries higher gross margins and will increases Osicom's margins on this revenue stream.

I believe that this is what the NET+ARM is specifically aimed at. (Re:
Synergy between printer and LAN/internet.)

The generic synergies which Osicom is aiming for are clearly implied
by the business plan, See the business strategy section of this document:

sec.gov

The specific aim of NET+ARM is first for printers, second for any type
of factory automation equipment, third (far future) for anything eg.
your house security system.

See:

osicom.com

Look under "news", then under the Jan. 5 press release.

In particular:

"Current printer and print server manufacturers that have incorporated Osicom's leading technology into their products include Adobe,
Brother, Kyocera, Minolta, NEC, PCPI, Peerless, Sharp, Xerox, Xionics and many others. The Osicom products supported in the future
by these and many other customers will be based on the NET+ARM technology. Additionally, many of these customers are currently
designing the NET+ARM into their new products as a standard printer offering."

What I am interested from you, David, is what is YOUR reasoning. You seemed
to have arrived at this idea from first principles. What makes you say,
"If so, this could be a big plus for Osicom - being able to offer a nice
package deal," without seeming to know the above information which I just
wrote?

Thank you,
Joe Hoane

This should be old news to most, but I keep feeling the obligation to test
my reasoning.
