--trans- population is minute at ~1% of overall population - like given all the issues that must be out there, why this issue? what is the issue a lead-in for that would be even more minute?-- yep, agree. i've attempted to have conversations with friends about this--the current focus on gender/sexual preference-- but folks tend to defer to the generalized 'choice' justification, without considering things like 'age of consent' or human development (children 'think different' than adults). those who are more involved with social media often seem to be rather titillated by sexual preference disclosure... there's a sort of fadism and gamification and life-as-cartoons. seems to me that the u.s. is in a stage of hysteria/irrationality/etc.. some folks say the focus on interpersonal differences (race, sexuality, fashion...) is encouraged by the 1%, in order to keep focus away from wealth inequity. dunno. please share, if you figure it out. :)
