Ford has an interest in the Auto PC and Connected Car PC . . .

According to today's Financial Times of London, "Visteon, the components arm of Ford, is working with Microsoft and Intel and hopes to be the first to incorporate the the technology in a production vehicle, probably in 2000 [note -- them and their competitors]. It says it will offer a dealer-installed version for current cars this summer." So we can add Ford to the Auto PC aftermarket list.

The article also cited Dataquest for the statistic that the GPS automotive semiconductor market is expected to grow from $364 million in 1997 to $1.7 billion in 2001. (Maybe this has been posted before.)
