Yes, GOF is selling at a large premium and I suppose people are supporting the high premium in return for a high yield, 10% is something people are willing to pay a premium for.

However, in my case and I am not suggesting others should follow, is that instead of fearing the high premium, I will manage it. I won't build GOF to a full position for now, I'll sit tight on what is already owned. If the investment doesn't work out, my losses will be minimized.

Every asset we purchase doesn't work out the way we want them to, so I don't spend a lot of effort trying to outsmart myself. If I like an asset, and the risk is on the high end, I'll start small and build small as long as the asset continues to show me its doing what I intended it to do when I purchased it.

Re: AVGO ... I would have preferred NVDA as an investment but it didn't support the objective. The objective was to find a good yielding technology company with a double digit dividend increase history and AVGO did support that objective while NVDA didn't. ... If the objective was capital appreciation only, I would have jumped all over NVDA. ... Ha!

I do have NVDA in the Young Folk Portfolio as that portfolio is more growth oriented where the Older Folk Portfolio is more income oriented.

I wouldn't mind AVGO trading sideways for a while longer, I still need to build the position and in the early stages of building, I'd prefer lower prices.
