appreciate you lengthily textbook take but sometimes one has to revisit their roots of being.. a reality check in Chicago, my mother's area was the S.Side.. mostly Poles, Slavs (Bohemians), Italians.. heavily Roman Catholic. my father, N.side of the city, ancestry German, Austrian, Italian.. again, heavily Roman Catholic. my grandparents, both sides, came over 1907- 1908 or so.. logically seeking their future in 'like' communities. Chicago was hugely blue collar.. men worked, women stayed home & raised children. think culture, as in Europe. men smoked, men drank.. you just did not mess with the working man's choice of drink, whatever it was.. that was their business. And the prohibitionists fcked with it. one cannot apply a holistic viewpoint of the whole when taking in the early 1900's immigration to America. as far as the mob goes, it was not as if AlliotNess on t.v. the government, I'll call that another day. but for the moment.. dTrump is gone. fck that clown.
