Although they may be less profitable, it appears that the Street was happy with the announcement. Much better than the last one.

Nice post. The glaring item to me was the weakness in merchandise sales growth and margins. RAIN management just doesn't seem to have a handle on this part of the business. I think you are right that they are making money primarily on the expansion, but not managing ongoing operations very well.

RAIN seems to have gotten some lift today. I suspect it is more from the general updraft and relief that things weren't worse.
