Mind numbing stupidity... persists... in spite of recent experience exposing issues clearly ? You don't ever need to do much new to prepare for the thing you know and are prepared for ? You need to prepare for "the next one"... the unknown... with something that will likely be sufficient... in this case, the unknown is a new variant... But, a lot has been learned in the last year... while almost NONE of that is being used ? The knowns in treatments that work... and functional prophylactics... all being ignored... again ? The new knowns in what doesn't work... but is destructive of society and social well-being... ignored... We've had over a year... to ensure people get N100 masks ? And, no one is... ? Lots of time to address "vaccination does not confer immunity"... yet have corrected nothing in policy... You have to conclude the people in charge of public health... are INTENDING to fail... Otherwise, still have to conclude they are incompetents that should be ignored... sacked... replaced. Wonder when they might finally get around to tweaking light bulbs... so they put out a tiny bit of UV that is enough to prevent vitamin D deficiencies ? When decide air filtration should be required... and be required to remove viruses ? And, of course... the problem of the glacial pace of science in engineering functional vaccines that are SAFE and WORK to confer immunity... has to be addressed... An excellent place to start would be to tax vaccinations... to allocate the $ to boosting work on other options...
