I'm very much against capital punishment, but with a twist.

I don't like the state having the the right to murder.

However, as someone whose step-mother was brutally murdered (then molested) in a house robbery, I think the appropriate punishment is to release the condemned on the courthouse steps at a pre-announced time. If they get past the crowd alive, they can go free....

I don't want to see my step-mom's killer executed. I want very much to do it myself.

Joe,
I'm glad we 'agree' on something much more important than a stock!

Not to start a lengthy debate here but capital punishment was instituted by God. So the source of the authority is that greater power.

My wife and I discussed this particular issue at length the other day. As a victim I most likely wouldn't seek for capital punishment on the perpetrator but would seek reconciliation. The state will do what the state will do however.

I also hope all you who are against capital punishment are against murder, particularly of those who are innocent and don't have a voice, i.e. those in the womb.

Regards,

KMT
