Not to mention, no one here knew about the horrors to come. Also, a lot of people supported Hitler, who was pretty popular here at the time. Especially German/Americans. Some famous people, like Charles Lindberg, radio preacher Charles Coughlin, Henry Ford and more. These pics are from America in the 1930's:

All I said was- "we sucked"- and we did. Nothing anyone has said points to anything else. Yes, there were America Firsters- and they were wrong. I'm glad to see the numbers in support of intervention turned faster than I remembered- but still, lotsa dead folks who didn't need to be dead. Let's just admit we sucked for a while- because we quite clearly did. And it's not like there weren't people saying that at the time- because there were. And FDR knew it was the right thing to do- to help Europe and the UK- but he didn't want to risk his political future. A practical decision- but perhaps not a moral one.

It's not like I invented this argument guys- plenty of books out there on this.
