G-d will create havoc and misery in your life till you turn toward him. Why? Because G-d is your father and loves you. He wants to be close to you and have conversations with you every day. I see you expect scientific proof for the existence and power of G-d. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. G-d is not a magic genie where you rub the lamp and your wishes are granted. You do wrong, G-d punishes. Your earthy parents also punish to teach you right from wrong when you transgress. I am not here to convince you one way or the other. That's your choice. I have heard all the agnostic/atheist arguments from my first wife. Moreover, I have studied all the atheist philosophers, including Sartre, Merleau Ponty and the early Heidegger and Nietzsche. G-d tests one's faith. Most blame G-d for everything unfortunate that happens in their life. But when one door closes, another opens. When one least expects it, G-d cones through and heals you. The real tragedy is that most people don't realize that G-d has already saved and healed them.
