Come on now, DIVX isn't that bad. Why is this DVD situation any different than the PC market. You buy a computer and 6 months later there are Pentium II 333's at the same price as your P55 200mmx. Suddenly you own an outdated system and you need to upgrade. Such is progress. DIVX makes sense because it addresses copyright issues. If you get total cooperation from the major studios this will be better than any other alternative. Ask yourself, if I didn't already own a DVD, would I consider a DIVX?

P.S. It is $7.50 EACH for my wife and I to go sample a movie!!! 6 trips to the theater is the difference in cost from DVD to DIVX. (not including the unbelievable food prices)
