The acceleration on the UK graph is most unsettling for sure. I think one thing of note about their vaccination campaign was that their approach was to get as many single doses out as they could and hold off on the second dose. This was touted as a huge success earlier in the year but then Delta hit and the single dose was not very effective, and we see where they are.

A better benchmark I feel for the US is Israel. Their numbers are on the rise, but it's a little hard to see on the graph due to scaling issues. They are planning on rolling out booster shots in September I believe. Reason being is their health ministry says the Pfizer vaccine loses potency after 6 months. Pfizer has kept their Phase 3 data to themselves and hasn't made it public but basically said their data agrees with Israel's study.

In the meantime new variants of concern keep popping up. Again why I feel the virus is staying a step ahead of us.
