Not where there was just no explanation of what happened, at least that I can recall. There was the Pan Am Lokerbie flight that had a bomb in it and destroyed it.

I remember people calling in to WABC radio. Witnesses stretched out for over a mile on the beach all saw a projectile hit the plane.
