Let me contradict you strongly with regard to China even that you claim of being of Chinese origin.

At present time more than anytime in history China represent an actual and present danger to the world and not only to Taiwan, Tibet, Russia, EU, N. America, or Africa.

Aside from the political reason of the CCP policies due the ill conceive "Road and Belt" policy which is a imperialistic policy under the coat of a sheep, but for the simple demographic reasons of population explosion.

Very long ago China build the famous "Chinese Wall" at great sacrifice similar to the "Road of Bones" build by Russia between Yakutsk and Magadan both in very similar way and with the same purpose more or less but in different times.

The "Chinese Wall" was build to insulate the then China, of the invading northern tribes which where superior warriors to China defense forces of the time.

Today China CCP policies is to expand globally and undemocratically, world wide, in need of resources, if for feeding its population or its industrial complex.

Brazil and Argentina already fell prey to China's policies as an example and so was Greece and a hard effort is in the making, in controlling Israeli ports as a bridge to Europe.

The EU is gullible with regard to Russia and also China, as is Russia in its relation to China whose companies are transforming the Siberian forests into wastelands, knowing this first hand.

The list of the countries who fell into the CCP trap of the "Belt and Road" program stretches into Africa, with Ethiopia as another country that fell prey to China policies, that will be robbed of his natural resources by Chinas enterprises controlled by CCP and this I also know first hand.

My fear is that the world will fall asleep at the switch and fail to confront the worst enemies of todays society which is China and Russia not to mention the other "fleas states" that do same and are using WWII excuses to proceed.

In a peaceful world no one needs supersonic nuclear tipped rockets, more atomic submarines carrying dooms day nuclear rocketry, and all the other gadgets of mass destruction.

If history is a guidance then somewhere, this civilization must say STOP and not continue to rearrange the chairs of the various leaders (mostly very selfish arrogant mean people) on the Titanic

Re <<Biden on wrong tack wrt China ans FP in general.. Living in the past >>

the theory is that Team Biden is doing the correct thing, because he was put in place by the people for the people even if against other people

Re <<China ... US>>

I counsel as I had long ago, I believe in a post to MQ, that both China and the US should build rockets, big rockets, and lots of rockets.

Rockets guarantee peace. They are like tokens, the more tokens staked, the safer the eco system.

Love searches on key words ...

here is the post, to MQ, circa 2014 Message 29443037
recommendation to both would be to build lots of rockets, big, thick, and hypersonically tipped
Love the way Team Biden shows concern for American businesses making hay in Freedom Rock Hong Kong in announcement Friday your time zone in effort to mill time.

US issues sanctions, warns businesses of risks in China and Hong Kong as Beijing promises to 'respond strongly'

and this from the audience of Team Biden showing what America was all about, that which made America great, arguably, just invested in the equivalent value of what must have been lots and lots and lots of parking spaces in Kansas. Difficult to say what would happen in 2024, but 2022 might give a false hint.

AmCham Statement on Business Environment in Hong Kong

Hong Kong – July 16, 2021 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (“AmCham”) has been operating and thriving in Hong Kong for over 50 years. Our 1,400 members represent business sectors ranging from financial services to law to logistics and real estate. We have long been operating in Hong Kong, China and greater Asia and believe that this city has a crucial role to play as an international business hub.

AmCham is well aware of an increasingly complicated geopolitical environment and its risks; particularly those which have evolved in recent years. The environment is more complex and challenging. We are here to support our members to navigate those challenges and risks while also capturing the opportunities of doing business in this region. Hong Kong remains a critical and vibrant facilitator of trade and financial flow between the East and West. Hong Kong has one of the best developed infrastructures in Asia, it has an internationally recognized system of commercial law, it has a more open and sophisticated digital infrastructure than many of its Asian peers. Its financial market is among the top five in the world.

For these reasons, we believe it is important, perhaps more than ever, for AmCham to represent American businesses and to constructively work with our public and private stakeholders to build a Hong Kong for the future. AmCham has just purchased a new site in Central Hong Kong to foster dialogue, allow businesses to network, to share ideas and espouse the values of transparency, free flow of information, rule of law and good governance.
