Not too many months ago, SUN made an offer for Apple. In such a world, who knows why SUN might make an offer for Netscape.

I kinda agree. What do you think if IBM bought it?
I always thought ibm would be the best buyer, if any.

Paul- No reason for SUNW to buy Netscape...

Hi Paul,

I kind of agree. The only advantage is they are both fighting the Microsoft tidal wave.

What do you think about a content provider picking them up? America Online or Yahoo!? I think the content part of Netscape is undervalued as an asset. Isn't the Netscape home page one of the most visited pages on the Net? The software value of Netscape would have to be translated to an almost completely content orientation. But that seems to be happening anyway. The browser doesn't matter anymore... it's free. They want you on the net to see the ads and content. It seems they will be giving away the server software too so that you pass through them for commerce and entertainment services and they
make money on the ads you see. Like TV.

What do you think?

Jon :)
