John, Re:"I think that maybe we will need some analysts to raise their estimates"

I had questioned myself the cause of the recent rally again and again. The long term perspectives is greater than ever. But the short term one is not much changed. The mid term one will be 440Bx and faster chips and slot II and Windows 98 and NT 5.0 maybe.

Were that possible analysts are buying the shares now and would upgrade the stocks once after they have completed their purchase ?

Or more investors are focusing on long term perspectives of the company than the short term perspectives ?

Your response is much appreciated.

-Henry

John, Yup, it does feel good, doesn't it!!! I bought several times on the way down, and even got some in the 60s I think...There were times there when I was more upset/angry than worried. Let's face it, 1997 was a tough year to be an Intel investor. There was problem after problem, and I didn't always agree with how Intel was handling the press and the media. But, I think Intel will be even stronger in 1998 as a result of all the problems in 1997...

As far as raising estimates, I don't know. Lazlo from PW has the lowest estimates on the Street for Intel, and he just issued an upgrade without raising estimates...He basically said the worst is over and Intel should have a strong 1999 with a modest 1998. Kurlak is the wildcard, and I think he's still pessimistic short-term (that's what he said today anyway), but he can change on a dime.

I'll be happy if Intel stays in a 85-92 trading range for a while...but I do expect new highs sometime this year.
