My two cents on housing - considering the current demand spike for SF homes the price of existing houses has ramped up at rates that are shocking. I believe that builders, for several reasons, haven't been able to keep up with demand. There are long lead times to correct this, plus we really are in a different world here in the US as institutional investors are buying such a large number of SF homes.

I don't see this as an indication to sell houses. Instead it means that prices will eventually level off in most areas as new builds start to catch up with demand. An economic shock would be needed to cause housing prices to fall - IMHO.
