Russian news>>Russia's government found out today that its recent PR blitz
at Davos was a total flop.

The country's top politicos did all they could last weekend in
the Swiss Alps to woo investors back into the market. And
this week, the central bank has also been trying to pour on
the balm.

It hasn't worked. A key barometer of sentiment showed
today that the market is in no mood to forgive. Interest rates
leapt at the primary auction of ruble-denominated Treasury
bills, called GKOs. The annualized yield on GKOs jumped to
47.54%. Only on Jan. 30, the government had hiked the
refinance rate to 42%.
Then, add in the talk of "world war"!

Canada C.B. sells no gold: Retains measly 3 million ounces.

Short article:http://biz.yahoo.com/finance/980204/canada_sel_1.html

But wait, if the C.B.s are trying to drive down the price of gold, .........Anyway, looks like we have reached a floor price some time ago.
