Using speed.cloudflare.com - Over 5 Ghz-ac I have 166 Mbps down / 22.5 Mbps up with 21 ms of latency from Spectrum. Using the Spectrum speed tool to their server via 5 Ghz-ac it's 226 / 23.2 Mbps.

Over Ethernet cable it's the full 400 Mbps down / 25 Mbps up.
.

T-Mobile 4G just now is 136 Mbps down / 57 Mbps up with 49 ms of latency. -- The new Starlink fixed satellite dish network ranges from 50 to 150 Mbps with 20 - 40 ms of latency with motors to refocus the dish.
.

For WiFi we use a Linksys MX8000 Velop Mesh WiFi 6 tri-band System with an ethernet backhaul cable linking the secondary units, but there's not yet any compact WiFi 6 USB units for laptops.

Interesting that you mentioned being 'hard wired'. When we built our home I had it wired for ethernet, but who would have thought older cable might end up being slower than current Wi-Fi! We get approx 230mbps via Wi-Fi, and I also get the same via ethernet, but we have Cat5e cable, which is right on the cusp of being able to handle gigabit speeds. I've read that older Cat5 cable in some cases will not.
