How soon we forget. When Obama took office we dems controlled the House and Senate by huge margins, and over the next eight years our numbers were decimated and we lost control of both chambers of congress. It was not progressives that caused that, it was the corporate Democrats that caused that!! And it was the progressives that voted for Obama over Hillary! During the next eight years the "moderate" wing of the Democratic party controlled the party and tried to engage in bipartisan governing, including bringing pubs into the cabinet. Have you forgotten the:" no red and no blue American mantra"?? And what did the Republicans do? They sabotaged Obama at every turn. They slowed him down at every turn e.g. ACA, and then betrayed him, and forced him to extend the Bush tax cuts, and they STOLE two supreme court justices and stopped his every effort to appoint judges, leaving over a 100 unfilled which Trump filled with right wing assholes. So we now have a supreme court in the pockets of the rich and corporations and our income inequality just gets worse and our very democracy hangs in the wings. All during this time the progressives had to sit on their hands as they had no power. And now both Manchin and Sinema are the dems kryptonite as they are making it near impossible to fight the Republicans; AND we may lose the 2022 election because Manchin will not sign on to the voting rights bill, and Sinema won't go along with the infrastructure package. If what Manchin and Sinema are doing is not being traitors to the dems, I sure as hell don't know what is!! <, Could not have said that better, or even as well, myself. Dems could fuck up a wet dream, as the saying goes, particularly progressives. Drives me nuts. There seems to be some hope, though, for the smart and talented youngster called AOC. She gets it and the change in her approach over the past year is remarkable and encouraging.
