I'm not one for conspiracy theories; if the powers that be wanted Trump out of office, there were much quicker ways to accomplish that completely without hurting others. I see your point, however: a quick global recession was needed to destroy the movement Trump created.

The midterms are key: if the Dems increase their margins in Congress, which I think are likely, Trump or any Republican won't stand a chance in 2024 because the Dems will spend their way to victory, increasing funding for universal basic income and more spending handouts to those earning under 75K a year. More importantly, the filibuster will be removed in the Senate if the Dems gain two seats. The whole purpose of the infrastructure bills, physical and humanistic, is to maintain momentum for a strong economy into the midterms, ensuring a Democratic landslide during the Midterm elections.

Trump was not wrong arguing against the Republicans supporting the physical infrastructure bill; for he knows that a very strong economy keeps the Dems in power.
