The way I look at it is, I expect to experience distribution cuts but it's not the end of the world. If a fund cuts the distribution from its 8% yield to a 4% yield, that's still a good yield. I can then manage the portfolio to offset whatever income was lost. It's no different than what happed to T this year or what happened to D and SPG last year. I was able to offset losses by other companies raising their dividend and moving a couple of pieces around within the portfolio. It's why they invented the words ... portfolio management.
