I'm not sure IBM management is capable of such clear thinking. They still think PowerPC has some life left in it, I'm sure. <VBG>

They do have an x86 processor - the Blue Lightning - an 80486 class device. IBM sold hundreds and hundreds of these back in 1993 and 1994.

IBM was also "smart" enough to SELL THE RIGHTS TO THE PENTIUM BACK to Intel - because they had a better chip - the PowerPC.
