wdry has laundry concessions... do you think people will smell less, or get less dirty if there is a recession? maybe they will do their own laundry instead of sending it out?
i have shorted and profited from wdry.. i somehow got stuck with a small 25 share "chip" left over from a day trade..i am holding it for ?? i guess for the duration as selling here would only pay comm..
i believe it may be overvalued.. but i doubt that they will go out of business..

To All: Anyone follow VECO? Up 5 3/4 today on no news other than
the semi-conductor surge. Its primary customers are APM, QNTM, SEG and RDRT. Their problems have already been established. VECO reports Monday. The herd mentality is strong.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

I'm waiting to short LAMR until after it splits.

I hadn't even heard they were going to split, but found the month-old notice on their website:

lamar.com

"Lamar's board of directors has declared, subject to market conditions, a three-for-two stock split of its Class A and Class B Common Stock, which will take the form of a stock dividend payable on February 27, 1998 to stockholders of record on February 13, 1998."

Of course, it's ancient history now, since it was almost a month ago, but they also announced several additional acquisitions, which is their way of producing huge sales increases.

This stock just keeps climbing. It's insane. Unfortunately, I don't know of any good models for top-ticking this sort of thing.

The company is kind enough to list the research analysts who follow their stock:

lamar.com

Has anyone ever called such analysts and asked them why they are issuing buy recommendations on companies that have HUGE debt and no real earnings?
