I just heard NPR's coverage of the new 1 GHz PowerPC chip and it made me really angry!! A rep. from some other company said it wasn't important to the personal computer market- because they use Intel chips I suppose. I wrote a letter complaining to atc@npr.org that went like this:

"I just wanted to let you know that I was distressed at a news report today, Wed. Feb. 5th, by John McChesney concerning the new 1000 MHz IBM PowerPC chip.
He interviewed an OBVIOUSLY biased representative from VLSI who said that the chip was of no importance to almost all personal computer users that use chips made by Intel. What about Apple users who have been waiting for this type of speed advancement since the Apple OS USES THE PowerPC CHIP NOW!!!!!
So as I see it, a majority of Apple computer users in Universities & Graphic firms that design a majority of the web pages on the internet will actually see a benefit from this type of PowerPC chip advancement.
Sick of your support of inferior technology,"

I don't mean to make this thread a complaining board, but I think that some of you should send them a note also (either pro or con).
