IDX - NBC's NY local station did a segment tonight on the use of Kidz Kards in NJ and the role they are beginning to play in the medical records field. Great plug for smart cards and their benefits. Best plug? They said that in the future, the cards will carry fingerprints which will be part of a national data bank and will be the principal means of matching the card carrier to his/her medical records. An additional benefit is that when the system catches on and is in every hospital (and Dr.'s office) in the country, it will be one more way to track kidnapped/missing children. Anyone know of a biometric company with the capability to establish that kind of national data base? One that has both the hardware and the software necessary? One that is tried and true and that meets all necessary standards? Duh...Jean
