I'm a short term trader, I dont hold anything for more than 2 weeks. If the NASDAQ is down 50 - 60 points I can profit nicely from it, and turn long on the reversal. Why buy long when you know the correction is coming? I can't understand your reasoning, I much rather ride with the trend, short on crash and long on runs, make money both ways.
I'm sure your long terms will be up 500% ish in 10 years, but compare that with 5 - 10% every 2 weeks on my shorts, guess which one makes more money? After all, we are in the market to get some more spending money aren't we?
