was just reading about 18th century u.s. colonial bounty for Native scalps... so now wondering if the 'minutemen' were opportunistic entrepreneurs running black market scalps into places (like pennsylvania) that would pay 50-100 pounds for each adult Native scalp. because of the outstanding incentive (a year's income for 1 scalp), some minutemen might have stretched the relativistic truth a bit (ok, lied) to turn a british scalp into a Native scalp. dunno. but aren't incentives wonderful!!! -sarc-
