Wireless Phone Is the First CDMA Unit to Offer Computer/Office/Internet
Access - and More!

DALLAS, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- When is a phone more than a phone? When
it's the new SCS-100 from Samsung Telecommunications America -- the first
CDMA/AMPS dual mode wireless phone to incorporate a palmtop computer for a
powerful combination of voice and data transmission, including Internet
access. Now the office can literally be in the palm of your hand -- courtesy
of a multimedia handset that also serves as a personal organizer.
In addition to outstanding sound quality for in-person calls, the SCS-100
offers:
-- data transmission including sending and receiving faxes, e-mail, short
messages and the Internet (via a pocket version of the Internet
Explorer);
-- word processing capabilities via pocket versions of Word for Windows
(the unit uses Windows CE 2.0 as its operating system) and Excel; and
-- organizational tools including an electronic calendar, address book,
notepad, calculator, and personal organizer.

"The SCS-100 represents the way we will approach the industry --
aggressive, innovative and always pushing the limits," said Peter Skarzynski,
vice president of wireless sales and marketing at STA. "Because it's designed
for CDMA technology, this is the unit that can be used by the widest number of
consumers who want to take advantage of the latest in today's advanced 'smart
phones'."
Features of the handset include Short Messaging Service (SMS), Circuit
Switched Data, Packet Data Service, and Character Enter Method, which includes
On Screen Keyboard and Handwriting Recognition.
Optional accessories for the SCS-100 include cigarette lighter charger,
travel charger, wired fax/data modem adapter, wired keyboard, and a hands-free
car kit. The SCS-100's standard battery allows users two hours of talk time
and up to 40 hours of standby time.
