When it's the new SCS-100 from Samsung Telecommunications America -- the first CDMA/AMPS dual mode wireless phone to incorporate a palmtop computer for a powerful combination of voice and data transmission, including Internet access. Now the office can literally be in the palm of your hand -- courtesy of a multimedia handset that also serves as a personal organizer. In addition to outstanding sound quality for in-person calls, the SCS-100 offers: -- data transmission including sending and receiving faxes, e-mail, short messages and the Internet (via a pocket version of the Internet Explorer); -- word processing capabilities via pocket versions of Word for Windows (the unit uses Windows CE 2.0 as its operating system) and Excel; and -- organizational tools including an electronic calendar, address book, notepad, calculator, and personal organizer.
