That's the way the article characterized it, not necessarily what she's doing. It seemed to me she was looking for a way to present material in class that did not break the law yet still teach the kids. Culturally Responsive Teaching is and has been a thing. That they have the same acronym is a coincidence. The article latched onto the acronym and, I expect, made it into a conspiracy which you bought. I have no way of evaluating whether the article's characterization is valid of biased. Can't tell without the video of what was actually said.

As for culturally responsive, surely you would not want a teacher to not notice if there were Japanese American kids in the classroom when the subject of the day is Pearl Harbor. The teacher would need to be aware and careful how she framed the material. Otherwise it could be awkward and stressful. No?

Why are there laws banning it if no one knows what the hell it is, including me.....??
