Stablecoins scare the crap out of central bankers. They will bring about the downfall of several minor currencies.

Hypothetically, if I were to create a widely circulated stablecoin that is tied to DX futures, I can "mint" a more stable USD that could compete with the government issued one. Furthermore this could be used outside of the US and disrupt the petrodollar and the eurodollar regimes. And to boot, it will be easily transferable across borders, bypassing much of the banking system. And what if I were to make it even better by also adding in fractions of EUR, JPY and some gold and silver for good measure.
