Spoke with Madsen...

I spoke with the Prez himself today. Nobody was more surprised than me when he returned my call!! He was generally very upbeat about things. He was very careful(understandably) to not get specific about numbers. The Apple deal, while maybe not a blockbuster, sounds like a nice piece of business. It certainly sounds as if Alcatel is stepping up the pace of orders and did so during the 3Q that just ended. As for GTE, it sounds like it could be some really nice business this year. The thing to do is to keep an eye GTE deals that involve frame relay because it sounds like they will be using FSCX almost exclusively.

He also said that a big part of the selling in December was due to one of their MM's, Meyers Pollock, going out of business and forced to liquidate 270,000 shares in short order. It seems to me, however, that their still is a persistent seller out there but I don't know who it is. The stock has been given up for dead, but I've recently noticed some other small cap techs that were given up for dead have really popped lately(i.e. SIII, ALSC, SMTG, FSII). Who knows, maybe next week???

Deep Thoughts

Jack Handy
