Market Maturity

Users' expectations of a product depend on the maturity of its market. Markets for software products go through some predictable stages, each with a different emphasis. By identifying what stage your product is in now, you can anticipate some of the pitfalls that lie ahead.

TODAY;

Data Processing / Software Index
matched its two year high of July 97.

Novell was not a contributor to the Index,
but didn't cause harm either! ggg

NOVL's price action was promising! It threatened
lower prices almost all day, never braking and closing
unchanged (or lower 1/32.) Volume of 1.811M was half
of yesterday's and mostly retail, imo. There have been
after hour blocks trades at 7 29/32 or so, pushing the
volume to 2.1M.

Certainly much work needs to be done, if NOVL is to be
taken seriously. But, one day at the time is is all a
turn around can ask for! <GGG>

Perhaps this is a dumb question? But, there is a company with a thread on SI called TOPRO (aka, TAVA) whos entire effort is directed at year 2000 issue.....would they be a competitor or perhaps might become a partmer of NOVELL?? Thanks
